Three years on. The genocide in Gaza continues...

Three years of attacks have killed tens of thousands of Palestinians and forcibly displaced almost the entire population. Families in Gaza are now living in overcrowded tents and shelters among the ruins of their homes, with an estimated 61 million tonnes of rubble around them.

Despite the so-called ceasefire agreed one year ago, attacks continue as Palestinians are forced into an ever-smaller area of land. Almost 1,400 people, including more than 300 children, have been killed since the ceasefire, bringing the death toll over the past three years to more than 74,000.

As winter and heavy rains approach, 94% of people in Gaza urgently need shelter support. Supplies, including tents and emergency shelter kits, remain far below what is needed, while up to 451 displacement sites hosting more than 460,000 people are at high risk of flooding. Restrictions on supplies entering Gaza, including reconstruction materials, are also making recovery and rebuilding increasingly difficult.

ActionAid’s response

Despite the risks, ActionAid staff and 34 local partners, including many women led organisations, continue to work across Gaza.

We continue delivering food, clean water and hygiene kits, alongside psychosocial support, safe spaces for women and girls, and women-led livelihoods support to help restore dignity amid the chaos.
